As of January 1, 2020, there were 445 power units of nuclear power plants operating in different countries of the world, which produced about 10% of the electricity consumed in the world.

Modern nuclear industry requires about 70 thousand tons of natural uranium annually. According to the optimistic forecasts of experts, the uranium demand up to 2035 could grow by more than 50% from the current.
In according with IAEA-OECD Red Book there are about 7 millions tons of Uranium available for recovery in the World.
